Background information on GLOBAL General and Reinsurance Company Limited:

Global General and Reinsurance Company Limited ("Global General"), formerly known as Gerling Global General and Reinsurance Company Limited, was incorporated in England in 1940. Global General is a company limited by shares whose share capital is wholly owned by GLOBALE Rückversicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft based in Cologne, Germany. Global General wrote contracts of general and life direct insurance and reinsurance. Following a parent company decision to cease writing non-life reinsurance, Global General went into run-off in October 2002.
