Our international "5th Cologne Commutations Rendez-Vous" with 131 participants from 84 companies was staged in Cologne from 8 to 10th March 2010. The meeting was, again, initiated and organized by GLOBAL Re in a joint effort with Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings.
Based on Randall & Quilter´s famous event in Norwich (UK), this Rendez-Vous brought together European insurers and reinsurers to discuss closing down business relationships in the most efficient way possible; one trip to Cologne might have saved having to travel to ten or fifteen different cities to hold talks. The intensified attendance of worldwide professional Reinsurers approves the significance and establishment of this conference.
 
Since run-off business keeps growing by an estimated 10% annually, commutations are also becoming ever more important. This was the motive behind the decision to arrange an event in Continental Europe much like the perennially successful Commutations Rendez-Vous in Norwich. Moreover, GLOBAL Re is not only carrying on the greatest run-off ever in the history of reinsurance, the company has meanwhile also won a market position as a provider of services for run-off companies. The event thus allowed the participants to collect information about the services offered by GLOBAL Re directly from the source in a number of personal talks.

Both, the organizers and participants agreed in their judgment that this Rendez-Vous was even so successful than the foregoing events.
